Karim Adeyemi’s move to Borussia Dortmund is imminent

Karim Adeyemi’s move from RB Salzburg to Borussia Dortmund is close to completion, Kicker has confirmed via a report from Sport1

BVB have been interested in the 20-year-old striker for some time now and an agreement has been reached by both clubs and representatives.

According to the Sport1 report, Dortmund will pay €38m and a further €3m in add-ons for their new signing, who will sign a 5-year-contract.

Adeyemi’s contract with RB Salzburg isn’t up until the summer of 2024 which has made negotiations drag for several months. However, Dortmund are now set to announce their new forward.

The German international may not be a direct replacement for the possible departure of Erling Haaland but the traditional striker gives BVB more attacking options.

Karim Adeyemi has made 25 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga this season, scoring 16 goals and assisting on 3 occasions.

Adeyemi’s signing will be a warm welcome for Dortmund fans who have already seen their club sign Niklas Süle and are on the verge of signing another defender in Freiburg’s Nico Schlotterbeck.
