Julian Nagelsmann reacts to Champions League clash with PSG

It wasn’t the tie that either team would have liked but that’s football. Bayern Munich have been drawn against PSG in the last 16 of the Champions League.

As reported by Kicker, the Bayern head coach said: “The perfect group stage wasn’t really rewarded. The same applies to Paris, they won’t be extremely happy that they are playing against us. The game is still relatively far away, but Paris are a tough opponent with many Stars.”

There was a similar reaction between both players and Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić. The sports director greeted the challenge when he explained: “We did very well, the boys did a great job. We can look forward to the Champions League, it’s an opponent who has top players, they were also unbeaten in the group. These are the duels that football fans want.”

Nagelsmann is right to be agrived. His side were perfect throughout the group stages but the draw has done them no favours. However, in football, you don’t always get what you deserve. Bayern will have plenty of time to prepare for the first leg trip to Paris with the game scheduled to be played on February 14th 2023.

In the meantime, Nagelsmann and his team will be focussing on securing top spot before the World Cup break and restarting again in January.
