According to Sport1, talks between Martin Hinteregger and former club Borussia Mönchengladbach took place several weeks ago regarding a potential return.
Although no official offer has been made, Gladbach head coach Adi Hütter wants to sign his compatriot, who has a contract with Eintracht Frankfurt until 2024.
Per the report, SGE sporting director Markus Krösche has suggested that Hinteregger could leave should they receive a suitable offer, reportedly between €6m and €8m.
Gladbach are searching the market for a replacement for Matthias Ginter, who will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season, if not earlier.
