Germany must address negatives – Hansi Flick

Speaking after Germany’s 3-3 draw against England at Wembley in the final 2021/22 Nations League season, Hansi Flick discussed taking a 2-0 lead before going behind and picking up a point.

“The first half was even, then we took a deserved lead after the break,” said Flick. “We made individual mistakes at 2-0 up and conceded three goals in fairly quick succession, which cannot happen.

“It was positive that we came back again in the end. Today was a good test for us. We can take a look of positives from the game, but also some negatives that we will have to address.”

Ilkay Gündogan and Kai Havertz put Germany in a 2-0 lead after 67 minutes but England replied with two goals in four minutes from Luke Shaw and Mason Mount.

Harry Kane put Gareth Southgate’s side in the lead from the spot after Nico Schlotterbeck conceded a penalty, Havertz then scored his second three minutes from time.
