Gerardo Seoane faces uncertain future at Bayer Leverkusen

As reported by Bild, Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro and sporting director Simon Rolfes held a crisis meeting on Sunday morning to discuss the immediate future of head coach Gerardo Seoane.

Despite a 2-0 win at Atlético Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night, Seoane’s future at the club hangs in the balance following a 1-1 draw against Werder Bremen on Saturday afternoon. B04 have just one win in the Bundesliga this season, beating Mainz 3-0, and have lost four of their seven games.

“We are all extremely dissatisfied,” said Rolfes. “We will analyse the situation clearly, but also calmly, and look for solutions together that will lead us back to stability and success.” When asked whether Seoane will be in charge for the game vs Bayern Munich, Rolfes added: “That’s our intention.”

Reported by Kicker, Carro and Rolfes will use the international break for further discussions but as of now, B04 bosses are appreciative of Seoane and at the moment, the tendency is to continue with the 43-year-old in charge.
