Florian Niederlechner to undergo Hertha Berlin medical

As reported by Bild, Hertha Berlin are close to signing Florian Niederlechner which will see the 32-year-old move to Berlin in the summer when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Niederlechner will be a replacement for Davie Selke, who is set to also leave Hertha, as his contract expires at the end of the season as well. Niederlechner is set to undergo a medical in Berlin on Monday.

This season Niederlechner has played 14 times for Augsburg and has scored four and assisted one, even scoring twice in their 2-2 draw against Union Berlin just before the international break. The striker joined Augsburg from Freiburg in 2019 and has played 107 times for them during that time.

In the summer, Augsburg added Mergim Berisha and Ermedin Demirovic to their ranks, which meant at times Niederlechner was not able to play as a number nine, and at times having to play behind the striker or as a winger to accommodate the new signings.
