Filip Kostić could remain at Eintracht Frankfurt as Juventus pursue Ángel Di María

Despite rejecting an offer to extend his contract at Eintracht Frankfurt, Filip Kostić could yet remain at the Bundesliga side, according to Frankfurter Rundschau.

The 29-year-old had reportedly agreed a three-year contract with Juventus last month but Eintracht Frankfurt want €20m for Kostić, who is entering the final year of his contract.

So far, an offer from Juventus hasn’t arrived and their pursuit of Ángel Di María (34), who is currently a free agent after his contract at PSG expired, would play in the same position as Kostić and therefore casting doubt on whether a deal will be completed.

Kostić has scored 33 and created 63 in 169 games for Eintracht Frankfurt since joining the club from Hamburg in 2019 for €6m. Whilst SGE wouldn’t put any obstacles in the way of the Serbia international leaving, Juventus pursuing other options could tempt Kostić into remaining at the Europa League champions and potentially signing a contract extension with his current deal expiring in 2023.
