Bayern Munich are expected to pick up contract extension talks with Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting after the World Cup, according to Florian Plettenberg. There are currently no concrete talks regarding a contract extension with the Cameroonian international.
It’s reported that the forward wants to wait until after next month’s tournament. It’s not yet clear whether the 33-year-old wants to continue with the Bavarian side or choose to keep his options open after hitting brilliant form. As per Sky Germany’s report, the situation remains totally open and could lead to harder talks than many believe. Plettenberg also mentions that money could end up being an issue for both parties.
Choupo-Moting has been somewhat of a revelation over the past month and has featured heavily as Bayern’s out-and-out number nine. So far this season, the striker has scored twice and assisted once in six Bundesliga appearances.
