Eintracht Frankfurt’s Djibril Sow praises the signing of Mario Götze

Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Djibril Sow is happy with the additions that the recruitment team has made whilst the signing of Mario Götze from PSV is one the Switzerland international believes will raise everyone’s game.

“I expect that he will make us better with his experience and calmness and that he will also give us new solutions in the final third,” Sow told Kicker. “In the test games you could see that we have the games completely under control but are too imprecise in the last third or we make the wrong decisions.”

As well as signing Götze, in an attacking sense, Eintracht Frankfurt have signed Randal Kolo Muani and Lucas Alario this summer whilst adding Jens Petter Hauge on a permanent basis.

“With the new additions, there is competition that wasn’t there last season, especially in attack,” added Sow. “You can tell in training, everyone is stepping on the gas and that already very positive.”

The futures of Filip Kostić, Daichi Kamada and Evan Ndicka all remain uncertain as the trio enter the final year of their contracts. If an extension agreement isn’t reached and they receive a suitable offer, Eintracht Frankfurt may look to sell.
