Eintracht Frankfurt without Ansgar Knauff and Luca Pellegrini for Tottenham Hotspur clash

Speaking to media ahead of Eintracht Frankfurt’s Champions League game against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday evening, Oliver Glasner confirmed that they will be without Ansgar Knauff and Luca Pellegrini.

“During the final training session both Knauff and Pellegrini said that they can’t play. Obviously that’s not what you want as a coach but their absences mean chances for other players and we have full faith in them,” said Glasner.

As reported by Kicker, Pellegrini didn’t make the trip to London due to a shoulder injury whilst Knauff has a thigh injury, For both players, the decision was made after training at 1pm before their departure to London.

Knauff would have likely started as a left wingback and in his place would have been Pellegrini. However, with both out SGE are likely to start with Christopher Lenz on the left and Kristijan Jakic on the right. Should Glasner want to play more offensively, he has Faride Alidou he’s so far only made five appearances off the bench in the Bundesliga.
