Domenico Tedesco on Christopher Nkunku: “He’s now a national team player, that’s important.”

Speaking exclusively to Sky Germany, RB Leipzig head coach Domenico Tedesco believes that players don’t need to leave the Bundesliga club to become world class.

When asked about reports suggesting Christopher Nkunku could leave the club and whether RB Leipzig can be the club where players can take the next step to becoming world class, Tedesco answered: “That is an ongoing issue.

“He’s [Nkunku] now a national team player, that’s important. A few weeks ago there was one or two other voices saying that if you want to become a French international you have to change clubs, go somewhere to the next bigger club. We have now contradicted that by the fact that he has now been nominated.”
