Chelsea exploring the possibility of signing Youssoufa Moukoko

As reported by The Athletic, Chelsea are exploring the possibility of signing Borussia Dortmund and Germany international forward Youssoufa Moukoko (18) following an injury to Armando Broja (21).

Moukoko has scored 6 and created 4 in 14 Bundesliga games this season but has a contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2023. As reported last month, Hans-Joachim Watzke, Sebastian Kehl and Edin Terzic all want Moukoko to remain at the club beyond the summer and extension talks are expected to resume imminently following Germany’s early exit at the World Cup.

Broja suffered a knee injury during Chelsea’s against Aston Villa during a friendly in Abu Dhabi and regarding Moukoko, per The Athletic‘s report, “Chelsea are doing the groundwork for a summer deal ahead of time, but may find a way to bring him to west London next month.”

Last month, Moukoko became the youngest player to play for Germany since Uwe Seeler in 1954. Moukoko played just one minute at the World Cup but despite a group stage exit for the second successive tournament, the 18-year-old is the future of German football.
