Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel holds talks with RB Leipzig’s Joško Gvardiol

According to Patrick Berger, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel spoke to RB Leipzig’s Joško Gvardiol over the phone a few days ago as the German coach attempts to persuade the player to the Premier League.

The Croatian international has been heavily linked with a move to the London club despite Leipzig insisting that Gvardiol is not for sale. Other journalists including Fabrizio Romano have reported that Chelsea have made a new attempt to sign Joško Gvardiol which includes Timo Werner heading to RB Leipzig on loan.

The young defender is clearly a wanted man and will be hard to keep despite having four-year remaining on his contract.

Earlier this month, Manchester City also showed an interest in RB Leipzig’s Gvardiol, who played 46 games across all competitions for the Bundesliga club last season. The Croatian achieved the most amount of minutes than any other Bundesliga player under the age of 21 in 2021/22.
