Bundesliga PREVIEW | RB Leipzig vs Hertha Berlin

After a satisfying 2-0 victory over Celtic in midweek, RB Leipzig welcome 15th pace Hertha Berlin to the Red Bull Arena. To the surprise of many, Leipzig have struggled for form so far. This is perfectly summed up by their current Bundesliga standings of three wins, draws, and losses. However, a win against Hertha this weekend could see Leipzig move within touching distance of the European places and finally get their Bundesliga campaign going.

Stopping Leipzig from climbing the table is Hertha Berlin, a team which has only won once this season but drawn a whopping five times! Only Stuttgart can match that stat. Despite their lack of cutting edge, Hertha have solved their defensive woes somewhat. In fact, Hertha’s last four Bundesliga games have either ended 1-1 or 2-2. If Sandro Schwarz’s side are to get anything from the game, they’ll need to withstand an impressive Leipzig attack and hope the likes of Dodi Lukebakio and Co. can finish the limited chances they have.

From a Leipzig point of view, it’s time for their attacking force to kick on. We’ve seen glimpses of that in the odd game here and there including wins over Bochum and Borussia Dortmund. However, if Marco Rose is going to achieve a Champions League spot this season, it needs to start happening on a weekly basis.

Hertha will be confident that they can stay in the game and the longer that goes on, the home fans may just become restless as they’ve seen it all too often. This will be an exercise in patience and discipline from both sides.
