Bruno Labbadia is a contender for the Stuttgart job

As reported by Sky Germany, Bruno Labbadia is one of the contenders for the permanent job at Stuttgart. Other managers in contention are Jess Thorup, who is the former manager of Copenhagen, as well as Alfred Schreuder, who is the current coach of Ajax.

Labbadia previously managed VfB between 2010 and 2013 where he led the team to their last European appearance in the Europa League in the 2012/13 season. The German’s last coaching job was a short spell at Hertha Berlin where he led the team to 10th before being sacked midway through the next season.

Stuttgart’s current head coach is Michael Wimmer who has been in interim charge since VfB sacked their previous manager Pellegrino Matarazzo back in October

VfB find themselves sitting 16th in the table on 14 points after a poor first half of the season equal on points with Hertha who are a place above them. Their first win of the season came in Wimmer’s first game in charge as they beat Bochum 4-1.
