Borussia Mönchengladbach interested in AZ Alkmaar’s Vangelis Pavlidis

Bild report that Borussia Mönchengladbach are interested in signing 23-year-old forward Vangelis Pavlidis from Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar.

Per the report, the Greece international is seen as an eventual successor to Marcus Thuram, Alassane Pléa and Breel Embolo, all of whom have contracts with the Bundesliga side until 2023. It’s unsure as to whether any of them will sign an extension.

Gladbach squad planner Steffen Korell and chief scout Mario Vossen were in attendance of Alkmaar’s 2-2 draw against FK Bodø/Glimt in the UEFA Conference League.

Pavlidis has scored 17 and created seven in 40 games this season.
