Borussia Mönchengladbach are open to selling Manu Koné

As reported by Sport BILD, Borussia Mönchengladbach are open to selling Manu Koné this summer.

This comes after the CEO of Gladbach, Stephan Schippers, spoke on the upcoming transfer windows: “The spring of this year was still marked by the corona restrictions that hit the clubs hard. A shortfall in this financial year can therefore hardly be avoided without a significant transfer surplus”

The 21-year-old already has his suitors. Newcastle United’s bid of €35 million in the summer was rejected. West Ham United have also shown their interest in recent weeks and sent scouts to watch the French midfielder.

Koné joined Gladbach in 2021 from Toulouse and has played 43 times for Gladbach making himself a mainstay of die Fohlen’s midfield. This season he has started all but one game for Gladbach, which he missed through suspension.

The midfielder’s contract expires in 2025 with an option for a further year until 2026, which means it will take a club record fee for Koné to leave die Fohlen this summer.
