Borussia Dortmund without Donyell Malen and Karim Adeyemi for RB Leipzig game

Donyell Malen and Karim Adeyemi are just two of several Borussia Dortmund players that haven’t travelled with the squad ahead of their Bundesliga game against RB Leipzig on Saturday afternoon.

Gregor Kobel suffered a fiber tear and in unavailable. Alexander Meyer played in the Champions League against FC Copenhagen on Tuesday but BVB II goalkeeper Marcel Lotka (21) has travelled with the squad to Leipzig. The former Hertha Berlin stopper could start in goal in place of the injured Kobel.

Thorgan Hazard is also available whilst Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is unlikely to play for Borussia Dortmund again in 2022 following a shoulder injury against Hoffenheim last weekend. Mateu Morey and Mahmoud Dahoud are also sidelined as BVB’s injury list continues to grow. On loan at BVB II from Werder Bremen, Justin Njinmah (21) has made the squad.

Following RB Leipzig’s 4-1 defeat Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League, Domenico Tedesco was relieved of his duties and the Bundesliga side appointed former BVB head coach Marco Rose.
