Bayern Munich want to extend Jamal Musiala’s contract beyond 2026

Bayern Munich are looking to extend Jamal Musiala’s contract following his impressive performances at the World Cup, according to Bild.

Despite Germany suffering consecutive group-stage knockouts for the first time, Musiala was the one standout star for Die Mannschaft. It has since become clear that the 19-year-old is the future of the German national team as well as Bayern Munich should he extend his stay.

The midfielder has scored 9 Bundesliga goals so far this season which is more than any other teammate. Musiala’s current contract is due to expire in 2026 and includes a variety of clauses to honour his achievements.

Despite the youngster’s contract still having four years left, Bayern want to extend his contract in the near future. The club are aware of the number of clubs monitoring Musiala and know he can be a key figure for the team over the next decade at least.

Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić told Bild:Of course, we told his mom Carolin and his management before the World Cup that we are very satisfied with Jamal and let them know that we want to sit down with them after the World Cup to talk about Jamal’s future at FC Bayern.”
