Bayer Leverkusen want Charles Aránguiz to see out his contract

According to Kicker, Bayer Leverkusen are keen on Charles Aránguiz (33) seeing out his contract despite rumours of him returning to Brazil.

A few months ago, the midfielder was reportedly pushing for a move away from Leverkusen.

Due to Bayer’s continuous work in the transfer window, Aránguiz’s desire to move may have increased with him being an unlikely regular first-team player in the upcoming season.

This led to rumours that he could return to Brazil and be reunited with his former club Internacional Porto Alegre.

Despite this, Bayer’s sporting director Simon Rolfes explained: “No club has contacted us.”

Bayer wants to keep Aranguiz and are now in talks to find out how willing the Chilean is to fulfil his contract that will expire in June 2023.

The Chilean international has been at B04 since 2015. Last season, he made 32 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice and assisting on three occasions.
