According to Sport Bild and Spanish media outlets, Barcelona have shown interest in signing Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko. The 18-year-old striker is yet to sign a new deal at BVB with his current contract running out next summer.
In recent weeks, it has been reported that Moukoko has refused to sign a new deal and is demanding a heavy increase in his wages. As negotiations have reached a standstill between both parties, some of Europe’s top teams have been showing an interest in the German international.
Most notable was Premier League side Chelsea, but now Barcelona is more interested. As per the report, Barcelona bosses have been preparing for talks for weeks which can officially begin on January 1st should Moukoko not sign a new contract at Dortmund.
What might hinder Barcelona could be their financial status and the amount of world-class talent up front. Already the Catalans have Robert Lewandowski (34), Ferran Torres (22) and others. If Moukoko wants regular football, he might not get it at Barcelona right away.
