Negotiations between Atalanta and Stuttgart for Borna Sosa are ongoing but an agreement is expected to be reached before Thursday’s transfer deadline, according to Kicker.
Unlike Saša Kalajdžić, Sosa (24) made himself available for Stuttgart’s Bundesliga game against Cologne on Sunday afternoon. Both Atalanta and VfB are expected to reach an agreement around €18m plus bonuses.
Since his move from Dinamo Zagreb in 2018 for €6m, Sosa has played 86 games across all competitions, scoring three and creating 23. It wasn’t until the arrival of Pellegrino Matarazzo as head coach that the Croatian excelled, 20 of his 23 assists coming under the American-Italian coach.
As for Kalajdžić, Stuttgart rejected an opening offer of €15m from Premier League side Wolves for the Austrian forward. VfB sporting director Sven Mislintat hopes to receive around €25m including bonuses for the 25-year-old, who has created three in three Bundesliga games this season.
With just days remaining, expect Stuttgart to be busy.
