Anthony Modeste interested in Borussia Dortmund move

According to Sky Germany, Anthony Modeste is interested in a move to Borussia Dortmund from FC Köln.

BVB have been on the lookout for a new forward following the news that Sébastien Haller would be out for several months after an operation to remove a tumour from his testicles.

Mauro Icardi (PSG), Jhon Córdoba (Krasnodar), Krzysztof Piątek (Hertha Berlin) and Edin Džeko (Inter) had all been identified internally as potential replacements for Haller and on Wednesday morning.

Sport Bild had also linked Marcus Thuram (Borussia Mönchengladbach) and Anthony Modeste (FC Köln) to BVB.

It’s reported that Modeste is interested in a move to Dortmund and has held discussions with his management.

Modeste (34) had a fabulous season with Köln last year and proved he can still find the back of the net. In recent months, the veteran striker has flirted with a possible change of clubs. It’s thought that BVB could secure the signing of Modeste for less than €3m.

A possible deal is in its infancy as it stands but there’s certainly something to explore between Dortmund and Modeste.
