Angeliño: “I’d like to play in a Hoffenheim shirt for a long time.”

Angeliño joined Hoffenheim on loan from RB Leipzig in the summer with David Raum heading in the opposite direction on a permanent basis. Speaking in the club’s magazine, the Spaniard discussed his decision to join TSG and his long-term ambitions.

“Football is a business. I can’t ultimately always choose, but of course I’d like to find a place to call home long-term,” said Angeliño, who stated: “I’d like to play in a TSG shirt for a long time to come.”

Joining Hoffenheim was a no-brainer for the 25-year-old, who added: “TSG had already tried to sign me two and a half years earlier. That was a major factor. Alexander Rosen made a huge effort to sign me again. For that reason, my decision to join TSG was a fairly quick one.”

After two-and-a-half years and 100 games across all competitions at RB Leipzig, Angeliño joined Hoffenheim in the summer on a season-long loan. The Spanish left-back has featured in six Bundesliga games this season for André Breitenreiter’s side, who sit fourth.
