Hoffenheim have this evening announced the signing of 25-year-old left-back Angeliño from Hoffenheim on loan with a reported option to buy worth around €20m.
“Three weeks ago it wasn’t expected that I would wear the Hoffenheim shirt, now I’m here and really looking forward to it,” said Angeliño. “In January 2020, I almost switched to TSG, so both sides didn’t have to get to know each other for long. I have a desire to help shape the modern, attacking and inspiring football that TSG stands for this season.”
Angeliño joined RB Leipzig on a permanent deal last summer after a successful 18-month loan spell at the club, playing 55 games across all competitions before moving on a permanent basis from Manchester City.
Last season, the Spanish left-back played 45 games in all competitions for RB Leipzig, but following the arrival of David Raum from Hoffenheim, will find playing time hard to come by, hence a move to Hoffenheim.
