Ajax are close to securing the signing of Brian Brobbey from RB Leipzig, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Earlier in the week, Ajax had improved their offer to around €20m for the Dutch striker.
The Italian journalist has now reported that both clubs are closing in on the final details of the deal.
Personal terms have been in place for several weeks, it’s just a case of finalising the fine components.
For a while, it looked as if Manchester United could hijack the deal at the final stages. Former Ajax head coach Ten Hag even had a phone call with his former striker, who re-joined Ajax on loan in January – scoring seven goals in 11 league games.
Despite only joining the Bundesliga club from Ajax on a free transfer last summer, the 20-year-old had a desire to return to Ajax, where he scored 13 and created three in 32 games across all competitions.
The Dutchman now looks like he’s getting his wish.
