Shkodran Mustafi agrees personal terms with Schalke

According to Sky Germany, Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has agreed personal terms with Schalke and will join the Bundesliga club on a six-month contract but there’s still an obstacle standing in the German’s way.

Mustafi is currently speaking to Arsenal to reach an agreement to terminate his contract which would then allow him to join S04 on a free transfer, thus paving the way for 20-year-old defender Ozan Kabak to join Liverpool.

Per several reports, Liverpool want to sign Kabak on a six-month loan with an option to buy, whereas Schalke are holding out for an obligation to buy for around €30 million.

The Turkey international has already met with Schalke’s medical team, presumably to undergo part of his medical given the time restraints to get the deal done before today’s deadline.

Schalke will only release Kabak to Liverpool if they sign a replacement before Germany’s 18:00CET deadline.
