Sead Kolašinac on Schalke return: “I wanted to make the move back.”

Speaking in his first press conference since returning to Schalke, Sead Kolašinac discussed the role played by sporting director Jochen Schneider in his return as well as his former youth coach, Norbert Elgert.

“I’ve had some intense and very positive talks with Jochen Schneider over the past few months. He’s a big part of why I made the decision to come back,” said Kolašinac.

“Norbert Elgert has always been someone I can talk to, especially in phases of my career when things haven’t been going so well. When the praise isn’t there, Norbert always is.

“After talking to him on the phone a few times, I sat down with my wife and told her that I wanted to make the move back.”

Kolašinac has joined the Bundesliga club, who are rooted at the foot of the Bundesliga, on loan from Arsenal until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old is expected to make his second debut on Saturday against Hoffenheim.
