RB Leipzig identify Divock Origi, Kasper Dolberg & Kelechi Iheanacho as candidates for loan

According to Sport Bild, RB Leipzig have identified Divock Origi (Liverpool), Kasper Dolberg (OGC Nice) and Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City) as candidates for a possible loan move.

This comes despite sporting director Markus Krösche stating that there won’t be anymore transfers in January: “We’re not doing anything else in the winter,” he told Sport Bild.

RB Leipzig have discussed internally the need for another striker with Yussuf Poulsen and Alexander Sørloth scoring just five goals between them in the Bundesliga.

24-year-old attacker Hwang Hee-chan returned to the squad against Borussia Dortmund on January 9th after missing six games. The South Korean tested positive for Covid-19 and has since struggled with long-term effects.

“Hwang had very strong symptoms. He told me that he felt dead for the first seven days. He really wasn’t doing well at all,” said head coach Julian Nagelsmann in December. “We have to be very careful. Something like that can be very dangerous for the heart.”
