Gladbach sign Manu Koné for €9m

Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach have announced the signing of 19-year-old midfielder Manu Koné from Ligue 2 club Toulouse, the 19-year-old will spend the remainder of the 2020/21 season at the French club.

“I’m really happy to be here. I was really interested to join Borussia. I think I can develop a lot here and want to learn a lot,” said Koné.

Koné has signed a contract with die Fohlen until 2025 and will join Marco Rose’s side for a reported €9 million.

“Koné is a really interesting player, who we have been following for some time now for the France youth national teams and his club Toulouse,” said sporting director Max Eberl. “He is a huge talent who has been monitored by top clubs from across Europe. We’re delighted that he has chosen to join Borussia Mönchengladbach and the Bundesliga.”

The Frenchman has played 18 games for Toulouse in the second division this season, scoring one goal and has also featured for the French youth teams.
