Parma lodge formal bid for Bayern Munich attacker Joshua Zirkzee

Sky Germany report that Serie A side Parma are hoping to complete the signing of 19-year-old Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee from Bayern Munich on loan with an option to buy for over €10 million.

The Italian side have lodged a formal bid and are awaiting on a decision from the Bundesliga leaders. If an agreement is reached, Zirkzee hopes to travel to Italy this weekend to finalise the deal before on February 1.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Everton have also shown substantial interest in signing Zirkzee but Parma are leading the way. Fellow Bundesliga sides Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Köln had also shown interest in signing the Dutchman on loan but have since strengthened their attack with Luka Jović and Emmanuel Dennis.

Zirkzee has played just 91 minutes of Bundesliga football this season whilst Bayern Munich head coach Hansi Flick wasn’t convinced that he could provide backup to Robert Lewandowski, hence the signing of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.
