Bundesliga side Wolfsburg on Sunday announced the signing of Germany international striker Luca Waldschmidt from Benfica on a four-year contract for a reported €12m.
“We have been following Luca’s development for a long time and are happy that he has now joined Wolfsburg. Luca has already proven in the Bundesliga, among other things, that he is a very dangerous attacking player who can be used in all positions in attack and is therefore very flexible. He fits in perfectly with our team not only in terms of sport, but also in terms of his character,” said sporting director Marcel Schäfer.
Waldschmidt scored 12 and created four goals in 43 games for Benfica after joining them from Bundesliga side Freiburg last summer.
