BILD report this morning that Bayern Munich defender Niklas Süle has tested positive for Covid-19 following testing within the Germany squad on Monday night.
Süle will enter quarantine after his positive result whilst four players considered close contacts will also isolate despite those tests coming back negative.
Per the report, Süle is fully vaccinated and symptom free.
“This news is very bitter so shortly before the final two World Cup qualification games – for the coaching staff as well as the entire team, but health comes first,” said Oliver Bierhoff.
Germany will play Liechtenstein on Thursday and Armenia on Sunday.
