Milot Rashica unlikely to leave Werder Bremen in January

Speaking in his pre-match presser, Werder Bremen head coach Florian Kohfeldt hints that 24-year-old attacker Milot Rashica will remain at the Bundesliga club in the current transfer window.

“For me, there are currently no signs that he will not be in the starting eleven on Tuesday,” said Kohfeldt. “There have been loose inquiries for Milot, which are sometimes passed on to us by his agent, but we haven’t had a concrete written offer on the table to think about in recent weeks.”

Premier League duo Aston Villa and Leeds United had shown a slight interest in signing the Kosovo international during the summer transfer window, as did Bayer Leverkusen – B04’s move for Rashica broke down on deadline day in October.

Rashica struggled with a knee injury and missed the opening three games before tearing his hamstring in December, thus playing just eight Bundesliga games for Werder Bremen this season.

The Kosovan has just 18 months remaining on his current contract.
