Bundesliga side Bayern Munich have announced the contract extension of 18-year-old German youth international midfielder Torben Rhein, who is now tied at the club until 2022, according to Sport1.
“Torben has made great progress with us over the past three-and-a-half years. We are convinced of his great potential and are pleased that he will now take the next steps in men’s football with us and with us,” said campus director Jochen Sauer.
Rhein captains Bayern Munich U19s and Germany U18s and is seen as an exceptional talent, named in The Guardian’s ‘Next Generation 2020’ which profiles the best young talents in world football.
“I am very happy about this contract extension,” said Rhein. “I am convinced that I have the right environment here to be able to take the next steps in my development and I would like to thank everyone who has accompanied me on my way up to this point and supported me.”
