Speaking after Union Berlin’s 2-1 win against RB Leipzig, experienced attacker Max Kruse praised his team’s performance after they moved into a Champions League spot.
“We played a good game and we deservedly won. We were dangerous over the second balls because with Taiwo Awoniyi and Sheraldo Becker we have two fast players who can also play physically,” Kruse told DAZN.
“If you play against Leipzig like we did, it shows that were playing good football at the moment. We are not wrongly up there.”
Awoniyi opened the scoring after six minutes before Christopher Nkunku equalised, central defender Timo Baumgartl securing a win for Union with 30 minutes remaining.
