Hansi Flick’s Bayern Munich future undecided

According to Sport Bild, the future of Bayern Munich head coach Hansi Flick is undecided with a suggestion that the 55-year-old could depart after the 2020/21 season.

Flick has a contract with Bayern Munich until 2023 but with CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge stepping down from his role at the end of the year, Flick is worried about the working conditions once Rummenigge resigns. Per the report, Flick values the working conditions and the backing of his ideas more than any length of contract.

Tensions between Flick and sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić arose after Bayern Munich failed to strengthen their squad in the summer transfer window with Bouna Sarr, Douglas Costa, Marc Roca and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting failing to make the starting XI on a regular basis.

Flick also remains in contact with the DFB and is considered a successor to Joachim Löw. Should the German national team head coach step down from his role after the European Championship this summer, Flick is high on the DFB’s list of candidates.
