Hansi Flick: “We must and can get better.”

Speaking to reporters after Germany’s 2-1 win against Romania in last night’s World Cup qualifier, head coach Hansi Flick praised the response of his side after going 1-0 down.

“Conceding a goal like that is part of the team’s development,” said Flick. “When things don’t go quite as expected, you come back and show strength. We did that today.”

Discussing the performance as a whole, Flick states that his squad, “must and can get better,” but that “in the end, the win is more than deserved.”

Ianis Hagi opened the scoring inside 10 minutes before goals from Serge Gnabry and Thomas Müller helped Germany to a 2-1 victory.

Die Mannschaft have 12 points from 12 in their group under Flick.
