Borussia Dortmund SD Michael Zorc reacts to Julian Brandt rumours: “There is nothing on the table.”

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has rebuffed transfer rumours linking the 24-year-old midfielder Julian Brandt with Arsenal.

“There is nothing on the table at the moment,” said Zorc in a presser. “We can’t do anything about rumours that are constantly being spread that simply don’t reflect the truth. There’s currently no interest.”

Bild reported earlier that both Julian Brandt and left-back Nico Schulz would be allowed to leave the club during the January transfer window.

Arsenal have shown significant interest in signing Brandt in the past week, who could be allowed to leave the Bundesliga club on loan, whilst BVB are open to selling Schulz should a suitable offer come in.

“We would of course deal with each situation individually – even with an economic background that is not rosy due to the pandemic situation but there is not even a hint of anything on the table,” added Zorc.

Brandt joined Borussia Dortmund in 2019 for €25 million but has played just 584 minutes of Bundesliga football this season.
