According to Sport Bild, Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić has identified four left-backs for a summer transfer: Borna Sosa (Stuttgart), Marco Friedl (Werder Bremen), Omar Richards (Reading) and Luca Netz (Hertha BSC).
Salihamidžić and Bayern’s head of scouting, Marco Neppe, see 24-year-old defender Lucas Hernandez as a replacement for David Alaba and so, are in need of a back-up left-back for Alphonso Davies.
Bayern Munich have a €10 million buyback clause in Friedl’s contract after the Austria international joined fellow Bundesliga side Werder Bremen on a permanent transfer in 2019.
Per the report, Stuttgart sporting director Sven Mislintat would also be willing to allow Sosa to leave the club if they receive a fee in upwards of €20 million for the 23-year-old Croatian.
Interest in Reading left-back Richards came to light in the January transfer window and with his contract expiring in the summer, the 22-year-old is available on a free transfer.
Bayern Munich also remain hopeful of activating the €42.5 million release clause for RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano.
