Speaking on Doppelpass, former Bayern Munich President Uli Hoeneß discussed the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the situation surrounding the uncertainty of Euro 2020.
“It makes no sense to play the Euros and in 12 cities,” said Hoeneß. “The reality is, wait four weeks, drive everything to zero. Maybe we must wait until October, nobody knows.
“The Bundesliga has priority. Scientists need time to find the serum. Anything else is just fluff.,” added Hoeneß.
The former Bayern President also discussed the non-importance of football in these unprecedented times: “I think it’s right to stop and think now.
“This virus affects everyone. Football shouldn’t take itself too seriously. We must have patience. Politics is doing a great job. We have to slow down until the numbers go down. Every citizen must work on it with discipline.”
