Robin Koch says goodbye to Freiburg teammates ahead of Leeds United transfer

As reported by Kicker, 24-year-old defender Robin Koch has informed his teammates that he’ll be leaving Freiburg’s training camp in Austria this evening as a move to Leeds United beckons.

Both Leeds United and Freiburg have agreed a transfer fee in the region of €13 million plus future incentives. As reported by the Athletic on Friday morning, LUFC hope that they complete Koch’s medical before he meets up with the German national team on Monday afternoon after being selected in Joachim Löw’s squad.

Per Bild, Koch will receive a four-year contract. The German has played 82 Bundesliga games for Freiburg, becoming an integral member of Christian Streich’s squad.
