RB Leipzig want to extend the contract of 29-year-old midfielder Kevin Kampl until 2023 with an option for a further season, according to Kicker.
The Slovenia international has missed much of the season through injury but has impressed RB Leipzig head coach Julian Nagelsmann since his return.
“He listens, tries to do thing and he’s a very good footballer,” said Nagelsmann. “He embodies a lot of what I imagine in the No. 6 position.”
An agreement could be reached in a couple of weeks.
