RB Leipzig reach agreement in principle with Benjamin Henrichs (AS Monaco)

RB Leipzig have reached an agreement in principle with 23-year-old AS Monaco defender Benjamin Henrichs, according to Sky Germany.

The Germany international wants to return to Germany after finding playing time at the Ligue 1 club hard to come by after joining Monaco from Bayer Leverkusen in 2018 for €20 million.

RB Leipzig head coach Julian Nagelsmann has been keen on signing Henrichs, this being the third attempt at signing the defender and whilst the Bundesliga club want to make a deal, Monaco are hoping to recoup the €20m fee they paid for the German.

The departure of Timo Werner to Premier League club Chelsea for €60 million will allow RB Leipzig to strengthen their squad in the summer.
