Hertha Berlin have announced the signing of 28-year-old goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow from Freiburg on a long-term contract.
Fellow Bundesliga club Schalke had shown concrete interest in signing Schwolow and until Hertha’s announcement, many thought he would be signing for the Royal Blues.
“I will do everything I can to ensure that we win as many games as possible in the new season, and to make these fantastic supporters as happy as possible!” said Schwolow.
It’s suggested that the German had an €8m exit clause in his Freiburg contract.
