No summer sale at Bayern Munich – Karl-Heinz Rummenigge

Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has commented on the futures of defender David Alaba and midfielder Thiago.

Negotiations are still ongoing with Alaba over a contract extension but there’s still a possibility the Austria international would be sold if they can’t reach an agreement.

“When it comes to salaries, some agents seem to thing that despite coronavirus, the sun is still shining brightly. That’s not the case. Maybe there is a chance to come up with a compromise,” said Rummenigge.

Both Alaba and Thiago have been linked with a move away from the Bundesliga club but even with just one-year remaining on their contract, Bayern would only consider selling for the right price.

“I have to honestly say, the fees that circulate in the media I have to laugh at. We will not have a summer sale here. We will only consider selling if the numbers are right,” added Rummenigge.
