According to Kicker, 22-year-old Stuttgart striker Nicolás González wants to depart the club during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Argentinian forward was a main reason as to why Stuttgart were promoted as runners-up from 2. Bundesliga last season, scoring 14 goals in 27 league appearances.
González’s intentions to leave will come as little surprise to Stuttgart fans though as attacker has been the subject of intense interest from a range of European clubs in recent weeks. Premier League newcomers Leeds United are in particular very interested in acquiring the services of the Argentinian international.
Stuttgart sports director Sven Mislintat told Kicker: “Nobody wants to make predictions, especially not in times of Corona. Let’s be honest: If someone comes on October 1st and puts a fabulous sum of 30 million euros plus on the table for Nico or another player – who should refuse something like that?”
Mislintat was quick to emphasise though: “I don’t see it coming either.”
