Nadiem Amiri: “Bayern Munich are beatable.”

Speaking after Bayer Leverkusen’s 4-0 win at local rivals FC Köln on Wednesday night, 24-year-old Bayer midfielder Nadiem Amiri looks ahead to their clash against Bayern Munich on Saturday.

“When you’re unbeaten for so long, are at the top of the table and win the derby like this, you obviously feel confident,” Amiri told Kicker. “Of course, Bayern are beatable – everyone is. The question is how, I don’t know yet.

“We will have to show a lot of heart and will. We definitely have the quality. I’m sure we’ll find a good plan and then we’ll see what happens.”

Mitchell Weiser gave Bayer Leverkusen the lead after eight minutes before Moussa Diaby doubled their lead two minutes later. Patrik Schick added a third for Peter Bosz’s Bayer 10 minutes after the break before 17-year-old Florian Wirtz scored their fourth just four minutes later.

Die Werkself remain the only beaten team this season and currently sit top of the Bundesliga, one point ahead of Saturday’s opponents Bayern Munich.
