Marcus Thuram: “Borussia was the best choice for my career.”

Speaking exclusively to Kicker, 23-year-old Borussia Mönchengladbach attacker Marcus Thuram discusses earning his first France call-up and his future at the Bundesliga club.

“At the moment, I’m fully 100% concentrating on Borussia and I’m very happy to be here,” said Thuram. “I haven’t spoken to any other clubs either.

“Borussia has enabled me to take several career steps – I play in the Champions League and made it into the national team. In Gladbach, I’ve grown not only as a player but also as a person and I developed myself further. Borussia was the best choice for my career.”

In Monday’s edition of Kicker, Thuram also discussed joining up with the French national team for the first time in his career.

“It was a great honour to be a part of this team,” added Thuram. “Of course, I want to stay [in the team] as long as possible. I know it takes a lot of work in training and a good performance at the club in order to be invited back. I think that as a new player I will fit into the group well.”
