Leeds United to push for Freiburg defender Robin Koch

According to The Athletic, Premier League returnees Leeds United will look to advance a deal for 24-year-old Freiburg defender Robin Koch in the next 48 hours.

LUFC have identified the Germany international as an alternative for Brighton and Hove Albion central-defender Ben White, who spent last season on loan at the Elland Road outfit. Leeds United saw their latest £25 million bid rejected for White on Wednesday.

Koch has just one year remaining on his Freiburg contract and appears unwilling to sign a contract extension with the Bundesliga club. Freiburg sporting director Klemens Hartenbach has previously confirmed the defender’s intentions to leave the club this summer.
